Update 4.2 is hitting the Hunt: Showdown live servers today. For this update, we focused on ensuring that the game's framerate, smoothness, and overall performance improved by fixing a number of issues with frame drops, stutters, and spikes. We also spent time optimizing CPU usage in order to improve performance on low er-end hardware and configurations. Thanks to these changes, overall framerate should increase for many users—and we will only continue to improve on this in further updates.
As usual, Update 4.2 went onto the Hunt test server first, and we wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who helped us to test the update while it was on the test server, and especially those who participated in our user survey during that time. Over 1000 players participated, and your input really helped us to refine the update. It meant a lot to the team to get that feedback.
Level Design Director Chris
Auty and Technical Director Sebastien Laurent discuss what went into the update
in detail in a video we released today on YouTube.
