This Wednesday we published a blog about Hunt's binaural audio system from Principal Audio Designer Christian Schilling.
Today, we want to cover what you can do to get the best possible Hunt audio experience, and share some more information straight from the source. To learn more about how audio in Hunt works, check out Wednesday's blog right here.
-Grab some stereo headphones! All you need to be able to accurately hear enemies in 3D space are a pair of stereo headphones, which is why we recommend you always play Hunt using them.
-Our spatialization system also supports surround speaker
systems like 5.1 and 7.1.
-TIP: Though we support the systems listed above, sometimes a mismatch between your system set up and speaker settings can occur, however, which can make it seem like audio is missing. For example, the game output is set to 5.1, but you are listening with stereo headphones. A case like that would mean you can only hear things from front-left and front-right speakers. All the audio information from center and rear speakers would be lost because it is being sent to an output channel which you don't have in that setup.
So make sure to check that your computer's soundcard settings match your output device settings to guarantee the best possible experience!
