Binaural audio with CrySpatial now on Xbox!

Some players have already noticed: We have finally brought binaural audio with CrySpatial to XBOX with update 1.3.1! So we're here with an FAQ to answer the questions we've been getting from you on the subject.

Q: Why wasn't it mentioned in the patch notes?

A: We wanted to get your unbiased reaction to find out how it is perceived.

Q: What does it do?

A: It simulates realistic hearing, primarily the ear-shape and the frequency changes based on the angle a sound reaches both of your ears.

This filtering can sound more muffled from some angles than before, and it might take a round or two to get used to the new audio perception.

Once you get a hang of it, you will find orientation of a sound source, especially at elevation (height), much more accurate.

Q: Does it only work with headphones?

A: Headphones generally offer the most immersive experience playing Hunt, but CrySpatial also supports speakers up to 7.1.

We always recommend that you ensure your output device matches your speaker setup and to keep audio uncompressed. Hunt is taking care of all the spatialization in the game. Additional post processing effects such as Windows Sonic, Dolby Atmos; or Virtual Surround Sound can have an unwanted effect on the mix. Software like Windows Sonic might have altered your game audio settings, and you can see if this is the case by checking your audio settings to see if Hunt is set to Stereo Uncompressed.

We hope you enjoy that new pin-point accuracy when hunting in the Bayou!
